Also known as the Seven Cascades, Tamarind Falls is an outing into a gorge rather than a roadside waterfall stop. Choose the route with your guide before making it part of your trip.

Choose a waterfall outing that fits

The tourism guide identifies Tamarind Falls as a waterfall hike in the island’s interior. Different visits can cover different parts of the valley. A photograph of one pool does not tell you what your own route will involve.

Ask about the walking surface, steep sections, time on your feet and the way back. Give your guide the ages, confidence and mobility needs of everyone in your group.

Give the valley its own part of the day

Treat the walk as the main outing. Keep any later beach or meal plans optional until you know the route and return arrangements.

Pack for an outdoor day and review the current weather with your guide. Swimming and canyoning are separate decisions with their own conditions. A waterfall itinerary is not a promise that entering a pool will be suitable.

Keep the rest of the day light

If you are based on the coast, arrange transport to the confirmed meeting point rather than to a generic map pin. Check whether pickup, equipment and meals are included.

Save another nature idea for a different day. Le Pouce and Black River Gorges involve different routes and need their own preparation.
