Mauritius entry requirements and the All-in-One Travel Form explained
Prepare your passport, entry documents and free Mauritius All-in-One form with official sources and a practical pre-departure checklist.

Prepare for Mauritius in three separate steps: check whether your passport and nationality require a visa, assemble evidence for your stay and return journey, and complete the official travel and health declarations before boarding. The All-in-One form is free. Completing it does not itself grant a visa or guarantee admission.
This guide uses the Passport and Immigration Office and the official government form as its references, checked on 26 October 2026. Entry and health measures can change, so return to those sources before travelling, especially when your route includes other countries.
Check the rule for your travel document
The Passport and Immigration Office says a passport or recognised travel document must be valid beyond the intended period of stay. Do not automatically substitute a six-month-validity rule from a generic travel checklist. Your airline, transit country or a particular travel-document category may raise additional questions that need checking separately.
Visa requirements depend on nationality and document type. Reading this article in English, French or Chinese says nothing about the passport you hold. Check the official visa information against the actual document you will use, including whether it is an ordinary passport, another recognised travel document or a document with special conditions.
If the official information does not clearly cover your circumstances, resolve that before paying for non-refundable travel. In particular, work, residence and other non-tourist purposes should not be treated as a normal holiday entry simply because you are staying in a hotel.
Put the core evidence in one place
The official requirements include a valid return passage ticket to your country of origin or residence, eligibility to re-enter that country, adequate funds and confirmed accommodation or sponsorship. These are separate from filling in the digital form.
Create one accessible travel folder. Keep documents readable on your phone and carry the copies your airline or the current government instructions require. Make sure another member of your party can locate the essentials if the main phone runs out of power.
| Document or detail | What to check |
|---|---|
| Passport or recognised travel document | It matches the booking and remains valid for the required period |
| Visa, when applicable | It covers your document, travel purpose and intended stay |
| Return journey | The booking and your right to re-enter the destination are clear |
| Accommodation | The confirmation includes the actual address and stay dates |
| Funding | You can demonstrate adequate means if asked |
| Travel and health declarations | They are completed through the official process before boarding |
If you will stay in several places, keep all confirmations together and use the form’s instructions for entering accommodation details. Do not invent a hotel address because you have not yet settled your first night.
Use the free official form
The government’s Mauritius All-in-One Travel Digital Form is at safemauritius.govmu.org. The official page states that the health declaration is free and that proof of completion is required at boarding. A payment request on a third-party site is not evidence of a government fee for this form.
Have your itinerary and passport beside you before you start. The form asks for travel details such as your flight or ship, arrival date, purpose, proposed length of stay, initial embarkation point and countries visited during the stated reporting period. Enter what actually applies to your journey, including relevant transit information when the question requires it.
Follow the current form through to its completion confirmation. Keep the resulting proof accessible for the journey and follow the airline’s instructions about presenting it. A saved browser tab or an unfinished application is not a useful substitute for completed proof.
Check health and transit measures separately
The Passport and Immigration Office’s current health advisory states that passengers must complete the travel and health forms before boarding an aircraft or vessel bound for Mauritius. Older advice suggesting that everybody can simply handle the declaration on arrival should not override that instruction.
The same advisory contains temporary measures related to recent travel or transit through the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and South Sudan. It distinguishes foreign visitors from Mauritian nationals and certain permit holders. Because these are temporary health measures, read the complete current notice if your recent movements include any of those countries; do not rely on a short paraphrase to decide whether you can travel.
Your outward route and recent travel history are different questions. A direct flight to Mauritius does not necessarily remove a measure linked to a country visited earlier. Equally, language, residence and citizenship should not be used interchangeably when reading an exception.
Keep every member of the party consistent
Check names, passport details, arrival dates and the accommodation address across the booking and declarations. A family booking can still contain different passports, nationalities or document requirements. Do not assume that one adult’s visa position automatically settles the position of everyone else.
For children or a party travelling under different arrangements, follow the current official process and airline guidance for the actual travellers. If a parent, guardian or other accompanying adult needs additional documentation for the journey, clarify that with the relevant authorities rather than using an adult holiday checklist as the answer.
If your flight or first accommodation changes after completing the form, use the current official instructions to establish how to correct the information. Avoid starting multiple conflicting submissions without understanding the process.
Make the arrival straightforward
Keep your passport and entry evidence in cabin baggage, not in a checked suitcase. Save your accommodation’s full address and the name under which it was booked. Separately, save the instructions for meeting any driver, including the actual pickup arrangement and a way to contact the service.
Once you arrive, answer questions accurately and follow the immigration and health officers’ directions. A visa or a completed form is one part of the entry process; the final decision remains with the authorities.
Do not schedule a tightly timed activity immediately after landing. Immigration, baggage collection, communications and the transfer all need room, and the duration cannot be guaranteed by a travel article.
Common questions before departure
Does the All-in-One form cost money? The official government form is free. Use the government address rather than assuming a paid intermediary is necessary.
Is it the same as a visa? No. Check the visa position separately for your passport and travel purpose.
Can I wait until arrival? Current official guidance requires pre-boarding completion. Follow that guidance and your airline’s current instructions.
Do I need six months left on my passport? The cited Mauritius requirement states validity beyond the intended stay. Check your specific document, airline and transit requirements rather than applying an unsupported blanket rule.
Your final departure check
- Match each traveller’s passport to their booking and visa requirements.
- Keep the return booking, accommodation and funding evidence accessible.
- Read the latest official health advisory against recent travel and transit.
- Complete the official declarations and retain the proof.
- Save the first address and arrival transport instructions offline.
Once your documents are ready, plan mobile connectivity on arrival and check the trip budget for expenses still payable locally. Save your essential confirmations where you can open them without a connection.
