Cap Malheureux and Grand Gaube can both fit a northern holiday, but they should not be treated as the same destination. One may suit a short coastal visit; the other may be the exact departure point for an outing that occupies most of the day.

Visit Cap Malheureux as a place

The Cap Malheureux guide explains the village, coast and familiar red-roofed church setting. Leave room for ordinary village life and religious use. Ask before close photographs of people and observe any restrictions at the church. A viewpoint stop does not need to become a checklist of every beach along the coast.

Use the correct Grand Gaube meeting point

Several northern boat and pirogue experiences depart from Grand Gaube, while other northern-island trips leave Grand Baie. These place names are not interchangeable. The confirmation may name a particular jetty rather than a public beach. For a boat day, use the actual meeting point and check-in requirement before adding a village stop on the way.

Keep a scenic stop separate from a departure

If you have an early excursion, visit Cap Malheureux another time or after the confirmed return when daylight and energy allow. Do not ask the boat to absorb a late arrival caused by sightseeing. For planning the boat itself, compare Andeor's northern outings and read the meeting-point guide. The wider north-coast itinerary remains the right place for a full driving route.

Can I board a Grand Gaube excursion at Grand Baie?

Only if the operator has explicitly confirmed that arrangement. Similar regional descriptions do not change the booked departure point.
